STEPS
Store rows such as nominal designation, TPI, series, pilot diameter and depth. Keep any numbered screw designation as text, not a decimal-inch assumption.
Convert units once at the CAD boundary; if using millimeters, one inch equals 25.4 mm exactly.
Use the intended tap manufacturer’s drill chart and verify the thread series before creating geometry.
Add clear labels such as 1/4-20 UNC and 1/4-28 UNF, export and compare the model to the source table.
TROUBLESHOOTING
UNC and UNF are not interchangeable. A fractional label parsed incorrectly can silently generate a wrong hole. Printed fit coupons are not certified GO/NO-GO gauges.
THINGS TO WATCH FOR
UNC and UNF are not interchangeable. A fractional label parsed incorrectly can silently generate a wrong hole. Printed fit coupons are not certified GO/NO-GO gauges.
RESULTKnown reference dimensions and all labels survive export at the correct scale.
