Manufacturing-ready CAD service
A manufacturing handoff needs more than a visually complete model. It must communicate material, geometry, tolerances and the intended process.
A handoff says more than shape
- Communicate
- Material, geometry, tolerances and process
- Index
- Quantity and revision
- Files
- Agreed native CAD, STEP, PDF and DXF
TECHNICAL NOTES///
A manufacturing handoff needs more than a visually complete model. It must communicate material, geometry, tolerances and the intended process.
GOALRun the first test described in this guide and record the result for manufacturing-ready cad service.
STEPS
- Agree the manufacturing process, units, material, finish and required fit before modeling.
- Create the model and drawings around stable datums. Specify only tolerances needed for function and production.
- Check sheet-metal flat patterns, bend data, hole callouts, quantities and revisions where applicable.
- Deliver agreed native CAD, STEP, PDF and DXF files with a revision index and a manufacturer review step.
TROUBLESHOOTING
- A STEP export may omit drawing requirements and editable feature history. Do not invent weld sizes, tolerances or material grades when customer requirements are missing.
THINGS TO WATCH FOR
A STEP export may omit drawing requirements and editable feature history. Do not invent weld sizes, tolerances or material grades when customer requirements are missing.
RESULTAn independent reviewer should be able to identify what is made, how many and to which revision.
DEVELOPMENT HISTORY///
Imported as an independent manifest record; public copy keeps uncertainty visible.
SPECIFICATION///
RELEASED MATERIAL///
An independent reviewer should be able to identify what is made, how many and to which revision.
The record keeps what is known at this revision. Unfinished tests stay unfinished here.
