Tiguan climate-module/compressor/fan interaction
Separate cabin airflow, refrigerant cooling and control requests to avoid replacing parts by guesswork.
Airflow, cooling and commands are separate paths
- Airflow
- Cabin blower
- Cooling
- Compressor and heat exchangers
- Commands
- Control requests and sensors
TECHNICAL NOTES///
Separate cabin airflow, refrigerant cooling and control requests to avoid replacing parts by guesswork.
GOALRun the first test described in this guide and record the result for tiguan climate-module/compressor/fan interaction.
EQUIPMENT
- Basic inspection tools
- Service information for the exact model
- Notebook or photo record
STEPS
- Record model year, ambient temperature, vent temperature and whether airflow or only cooling changes.
- Compare behavior at idle and while moving, and note all climate/engine warning messages.
- Have a VW-capable diagnostic scan check climate and engine faults, compressor request/inhibit data and relevant sensors.
- Use the model-specific service procedure to test condenser/radiator fan operation and refrigerant charge by proper equipment before condemning a module or compressor.
TROUBLESHOOTING
- A spinning pulley does not necessarily prove compressor pumping on every design. Low refrigerant, electrical faults and control inhibition can mimic each other. Keep clear of fans that may start automatically.
SAFETY / LIMITS
- Use qualified judgment and current manufacturer or code guidance for safety-critical work.
THINGS TO WATCH FOR
A spinning pulley does not necessarily prove compressor pumping on every design. Low refrigerant, electrical faults and control inhibition can mimic each other. Keep clear of fans that may start automatically.
RESULTThe diagnosis connects observed commands and measurements to the failed subsystem, with the exact vehicle year recorded.
DEVELOPMENT HISTORY///
Imported as an independent manifest record; public copy keeps uncertainty visible.
SPECIFICATION///
RELEASED MATERIAL///
