Pecan Harvest Timing / Immature Nut Field Notes
This record preserves the shared conversation as a practical harvest-timing note. The pecan was still in the kernel-filling stage: the shell could be cut, the inside was watery, and the green shuck had not begun separating naturally. The hickory was farther along, with a hardened shell and recognizable kernel, but its husk still resisted removal. The working plan is to leave both on the tree, check one sacrificial nut weekly, and watch for natural shuck splitting before collecting.
EXP-PECAN-001TECHNICAL NOTES///
A field note about distinguishing immature pecans from harvest-ready nuts by shell hardness, husk separation, kernel development, and the liquid released when a green nut is cut.
DEVELOPMENT HISTORY///
Imported into a local public-safe summary with four attached field photographs. The tree overview is published as a privacy-safe crop; the full property frame remains local.
SPECIFICATION///
RELEASED MATERIAL///
Starting field record; the next inspection should document date, shuck separation, shell hardness, kernel fill, and a replacement photograph.
The record keeps what is known at this revision. Unfinished tests stay unfinished here.
