The Elevator / Food Poster Workspace
This project turned a reusable food-poster layout into a private browser workspace. It combined dish photos, the original restaurant logo, editable titles and dates, saved posts, and PNG downloads. A second format held six daily specials for a Monday–Saturday week. The workspace was built and published in September 2026, then retired at the owner's request. Its project story stays here; the old workspace now leads to this record and its editing endpoints are closed.
TECHNICAL NOTES///
A private website for making The Elevator Bar & Grill's food-special posters and Monday–Saturday menus. The online workspace retired to the Graveyard on October 10, 2026.
The useful part of this experiment was separating reusable poster design from the information that changes for each special.
The daily layout combined a food photograph with two title lines, an optional description or price, and a date. The original restaurant logo stayed separate from the photo so it could remain unchanged when the dish or presentation changed.
The weekly layout used six text slots, one for each day from Monday through Saturday. Choosing the week set the date range, and the browser assembled a downloadable PNG from the reusable background and lettering.
For daily posts, the workspace kept the original dish image alongside a prepared scene. A comparison view and approval step came before export. The code also supported optional connected photo preparation, but that feature depended on its separate service connection.
The project included private sign-in and saved-post storage. That made it possible to return to an existing special and change its text or date while retaining the selected image. This record describes the implemented workflow; it does not publish the private post library or establish how many posters were used in practice.
On October 10, 2026, the owner chose to retire the website side of the food-poster project. The old address now points here, and its API returns a retirement notice. Existing stored project data was left in place. The original implementation remains in the repository history as a record of the experiment.
DEVELOPMENT HISTORY///
Published the private Elevator poster workspace with reusable artwork and protected photo storage.
Retired the online workspace at the owner's request. Preserved this project record and closed the editor's API without deleting saved project data.
SPECIFICATION///
