TECHNICAL NOTES///
Conversation-specific knowledge extracted from the 3d print metal model discussion.
QUESTION / CONTEXTI have a large inventor model made of sheet metal that I am wanting to 3d print. How would I go about getting this to print after scaling it down. Orca is ignoring things that are to small or thin. I dont care how detailed these look I just want to print it
IMPORTANT GUIDANCE
- --
- Use *one* of these tricks:
- Open the IPT or derived assembly.
- Convert thin sheet metal to solid faces (Make Part / Derive).
- Use Thicken on all faces.
- Give them something chunky like 1.0–2.0 mm thickness.
- This makes them survive scaling and slicing.
- Make a Derived Part from your full assembly.
