U225X PUBLIC SUMMARY Record: MDL-DATUM-001 / Datum Shroom 3D Scan Alignment Marker Status: Experimental / Scan validation pending SUMMARY The marker is a compact, asymmetric mushroom-shaped object intended to make orientation and repeat alignment obvious in phone or portable 3D scanning. The design uses an irregular gear-like base, a bite notch, bumps of different sizes, and a bent cap/stem silhouette. PRINT AND TEST NOTES - Prototype at approximately 0.20 mm layers with a matte surface where possible. - Revision 2 corrected the magnet pocket and increased magnet clearance; Revision 1 remains available for comparison. - The multi-color slicer job used many tool changes and a large prime tower, so a matte single-color print may be more practical for scanning. - Capture multiple sides with consistent lighting and overlap, then compare registration error with a simpler reference marker. LIMITS Dimensions and scan performance are provisional until independently reproduced. Follow scanning-spray labeling and ventilation guidance, and keep magnets away from sensitive electronics and storage media.
